Wise Traffic School Practice Test

The correct answer is the presence of a yellow flashing light, which indicates that you must adhere to the reduced speed limit in a school zone. Yellow flashing lights are commonly used to alert drivers that they are entering a school zone and that the speed limit is lower during certain times, typically when children are arriving at or leaving school. This visual cue is vital for ensuring the safety of young pedestrians who may be crossing the street or walking near the roadway.

While a school crossing guard is an important presence for directing and assisting children safely across streets, the requirement to follow the posted speed limit hinges primarily on the yellow flashing light. Additionally, the absence of parked cars does not diminish the need to follow speed limits in school zones, as the potential presence of children is still a critical factor. Thus, observing the yellow flashing light is essential for complying with speed regulations in school zones.
